Affordable rental housing in BC, all in one place

Rentable is for renters in British Columbia who cannot comfortably afford market rent. There are housing options below market and we'll help you find them.

Who Rentable is for

How it works

  1. Tell us about you.

A short quiz, 4 minutes max. Your inputs are kept simple and private. We never store precise income.

  2. See what may fit.

We match your inputs to BC's below-market housing programs and show you next steps.

  3. Stay alerted.

Subscribe and we'll tell you when supply opens in your cities. Pause or unsubscribe anytime.

Why Rentable

Rentable was built because BC's below-market housing supply is real but scattered. Programs run city by city, operator by operator, building by building. There is no single application, no central list, and no easy way for a moderate-income renter to know what they may qualify for. We aim to change that.

We map this layer. We pull program rules, income limits, operator information, and contact paths from public sources, BC Housing data, and operator websites. Every record carries a source and a last-checked date.

We don't sell to renters. We don't run programs. We don't pretend to be the program operator. Where another path is clearly the right one for you, the quiz will say so.

Frequently asked questions

Rentable is for renters in British Columbia, mostly those earning roughly $60,000 to $150,000 a year, who are looking for below-market or non-market housing. We also route renters on lower incomes to BC Housing Registry, SAFER, or RAP when those are the right fit.

Program rules, income limits, and provider information come from public sources: BC Housing, municipal program pages, operator websites, and government data. Every record on Rentable shows its sources and the date we last checked them. Rentable does not run any of these programs.

No. Rentable is free for renters. We do not sell renter data. The only personal information we collect from you is your email and the alert preferences you give us, which you can pause or delete anytime.

You will get a confirmation email and the ability to manage your preferences. We are still building partnerships with providers, so you will not receive listings right away. Until listings start, we'll send you a short monthly update with what we are working on. When listings begin, you will receive them at your chosen frequency.

We work hard to keep program rules accurate, but final eligibility is always determined by the program operator at the time of application. The match results from the quiz are based on the inputs you give us and the data we have on file. Always confirm with the operator before applying.

Rentable focuses on below-market and means-tested housing programs and the operators that provide them. Private market listings are not part of Rentable today.

Yes. We list operators from public information and endeavour to keep these accurate. Please contact us directly. We will respond and update your profile based on the information you share.

Rentable is an independent project building infrastructure for BC's below-market housing. We are not a government agency. Read more on our About page.
