Summary

About Capital Region Housing Corporation

Capital Region Housing Corporation (CRHC) is the housing arm of the Capital Regional District (CRD), the regional government for Greater Victoria. CRHC owns and manages 53 housing complexes serving more than 4,300 residents across eight municipalities on south Vancouver Island, and is the largest non-profit housing provider on Vancouver Island.

CRHC operates a dual-stream portfolio. The Affordable Housing stream serves low- and moderate-income households at rents pegged to BC Housing's Housing Income Limits and uses CRHC's own application process. The Subsidized (rent-geared-to-income) stream is delivered through the BC Housing Registry. Two-bedroom and larger units are restricted to households with dependent children or a documented medical-bedroom need.

Prospective tenants apply to CRHC directly for Affordable units (by email, fax, or in-person at the Fisgard Street office) and through the BC Housing Registry for Subsidized units. Applicants must provide three months of written income documentation. CRHC also operates supportive and seniors-focused buildings within its portfolio.

CRHC is governed by a board appointed by the CRD and reports through the regional district's housing programs.
