Summary

About First United Church Social Housing Society

First United Church Social Housing Society is the housing arm of First United Church Community Ministry Society, a 140-year-old United Church of Canada inner-city ministry serving Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. The Society manages 189 units of affordable housing across the DTES and Mount Pleasant, ranging from bachelor suites to three-bedroom family homes, including fully accessible units and homes for seniors. First United also operates a 24/7 emergency shelter and offers wraparound services including legal advocacy, food security, a tax clinic, and BC eviction mapping. The flagship 320 East Hastings site is being redeveloped as 'First Forward,' an 11-storey project in partnership with Lu'ma Native Housing Society delivering over 100 below-market homes for Indigenous Peoples plus four floors of community amenities and services.
