Summary

About Metro Vancouver Housing

Metro Vancouver Housing (legally Metro Vancouver Housing Corporation, or MVHC) is the non-profit housing provider owned by the Metro Vancouver regional district. MVHC owns and operates more than 3,400 affordable rental homes across 49 sites, serving approximately 10,000 residents in communities throughout the Lower Mainland.

The portfolio includes a mix of subsidized (rent-geared-to-income), low-end-of-market, and moderate-income rental units, primarily serving families, seniors, and people with disabilities. Subsidized units are accessed through the BC Housing Registry, while low-end-of-market and moderate-income units are advertised directly through MVHC's website on a per-building basis.

MVHC is currently delivering a 10-year, $150 million capital plan to add or redevelop 2,000+ non-market homes. Active projects include Heron's Nest in Pitt Meadows (a roughly 115-unit family rental building plus a 150-space child care centre, anticipated completion 2027) and other infill and redevelopment sites in Surrey, Vancouver, and Port Coquitlam.

MVHC reports to the Metro Vancouver Housing Committee and operates as a separate corporate entity within the Metro Vancouver federation of services.
