John Perkins Memorial Housing Society

The John Perkins Memorial Housing Society is the housing arm of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 137 (Campbell River). Its two buildings, originally developed through a Legion housing initiative in the late 1960s, deliver 62 low-cost rental units (including 48 bachelor suites) to seniors aged 55+ and adults with disabilities whose gross household income falls below program thresholds. The residence is non-smoking and oriented toward independent living in central Campbell River. The Society maintains office hours Monday–Friday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm at 931 14th Avenue and prioritizes veterans where eligibility overlaps. There is no standalone organizational website; intake is handled directly at the building.
